PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injections for facial aesthetics are a non-surgical treatment that uses the patient's own blood to promote skin rejuvenation and enhance facial appearance. The process begins with drawing a small amount of the patient's blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other components. This plasma, rich in growth factors, is then injected into areas of the face that need improvement. PRP injections stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and restore volume to areas of the face that have lost elasticity or fullness.
Common treatment areas include under-eye hollows, smile lines, forehead wrinkles, and the cheeks. The procedure is minimally invasive, with minimal downtime. The results gradually improve over time, as the collagen production stimulated by PRP continues to enhance the skin's appearance.

Lasers

Laser hair reduction is done with a Diode to remove unwanted hair anywhere on the body. We anticipate you will need 8-12 session to reach your desired outcome. We expect 80-100% hair removal.

With the Sciton BBL, broadband light therapy is used to treat brown spots, age spots, sun spots, and skin texture issues. The BBL machine uses small, short pulses of high-intensity light energy that heats up the outermost layers of the skin. Once the skin begins heating up, your skin then takes in that heat, and is then signaled to stimulate collagen production. Increased collagen production= younger, plumper skin.
The BBL can treat issues such as:
- Age Spots/Freckles
- Blood Vessels
- Acne/Acne Scarring
- Skin Texture
- Pigmentation

Moxi is a non-ablative fractioned laser that converts energy into light. This procedure creates tiny injuries to the top layer of the skin, which stimulates the skin's natural repair process.
MOXI is beneficial for:
- Uneven pigmentation
- Tone and texture
- Light sun damage and skin aging
- Prejuvenation – stave off the visible signs of aging before they appear.
- Long-term maintenance – extend the results of more aggressive laser & light procedures and maintain the appearance of healthy skin over the long term.

This service uses the YAG device, and bulk heats the skin in order to induce collagen production. This treatment is less painful than other anti-aging treatments, and results in no-downtime, and can even be done during a lunch break. This treatment is best for patients interested in anti-aging, and can even be done as an add-on to another treatment. You will be photo-sensitive post-treatment, so an SPF is necessary. For prime results, we recommend this treatment once a month.

The SkinPen is a microneedling device cleared by the FDA and used primarily for skin rejuvenation. It creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production.

Julia LaRocca, CNP

Julia is an AANP board-certified nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience in health care. She was born in Akron, Ohio, and went to The University of Akron for both undergraduate and graduate school. Julia's dream since she became a nurse was to open a medical spa to be able to provide alternative therapy and aesthetics to the Akron Community.

When she isn't working, you can find Julia chasing her 4 boys around, supporting Cleveland sports with her husband, or hanging out with her family and friends!

Amanda Mahon, CNP

An Akron native, Amanda became a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner in 2015 and has since worked in Internal and Emergency Medicine. It has been a long-time desire of Amandas to enter the field of Aesthetic Medicine, where she could utilize her passion for skin health and noninvasive procedures.

She has attended multiple trainings and symposiums to further her knowledge and expertise in the field. Amanda has a strong commitment to making her clients look and feel their best. She loves tailoring a customized skin care plan for each of her patients to achieve maximum results. She specializes in laser therapy, anti-aging, and advanced skin care techniques.

In her time away from the Medical Spa, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and her sons!

Alison obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from The University of Akron. She has a true eye for aesthetics and specializes in Body Contouring, Skin Care & Laser at Modern Vitality.
